Final Fantasy 9 Alexandrian Soldier
Lately, I've had to be more picky in terms of what I make for myself. About one cosplay a year it seems. But that just means I really need to make sure that I love that character. Final Fantasy IX is one of my top 3 games. This is my second cosplay from the game, with Black Waltz 3rd being my first.
After modeling the helmet in 3DSMax, I had originally planned on finishing it via pepakura, but decided that I'd rather 3D print it instead. The sword was also modeled and printed on my polyprinter. All the printed pieces were attached with acetone slurry, filled with Filler Primer and spot putty, then sanded, primed and painted. I painted them both with Duplicolor silver. The blade of the sword is glossy black with Duplicoler chrome over it.
All the armor is veg tanned leather, patterned from eva foam where needed. The chest piece was wet molded over a fashion mannequin, then trimmed to shape and finished.
The bodysuit was self drafted on my sewing dummy, transferred to muslin multiple times for adjusting, then finished in the final fabric. Not sure what kind it is, but I loved the texture.
