Kingdom Hearts - Invi Mask
I worked on this along with the Ava mask and followed the same procedures. It was modeled in Zbrush, then printed in ABS on my Polyprinter 229. 11 pieces total. An ABS slurry was used to attach the pieces, followed by waves of filler primer and spot putty for smoothing and sanding. It was all airbrushed with Tamiya acrylic, diluted with 70% isopropyl alcohol and then clear coated with Pledge Floor (which is an acrylic).
The visor is clean worbla dyed with Blue Rit Dyemore. It took two passes to achieve a dark enough color.
The gems for both masks started out as a model in Fusion 360. Printed as finished as above, then molded with Mold Max 30. Not my preferred silicon. I had just moved and it was all I could find in town on short notice. 3 molds were made since I needed 9 gems of each color.
The gems were cast in Epoxacast 690 tinted with Smoothon Ignite pigments. Even with through use of release spray, the silicone and the gem resin didn't like each other and the molds became useless by the end of the project. Small holes were drilled at the top of each gem for easy attachment to the garments.
